Miscellaneous Theories

Page: 1 | 2

T    Remember Godric Gryffindor's sword? Ever notice how it keeps on getting little mentions in books other than book 2? In book 5 there's some sort of reference to it gleaming in the cabinet or something along those lines.
What if Harry pulling this sword out of the sorting hat means more than was let on. Could this be the weapon that could kill Voldemort? Think about it, why would a wizard (GG) need a sword? He has his wand, so maybe the sword acts as a wand when the right person is taught how to use it such as Gryffindor's heir...Harry.
I believe this theory is valid even more now JKR has mentioned that something small from book two will play a big part in the books to come, because lets face, the sword wasn't the most major thing in book 2 was it?!

Harry and Voldemort cannot effectively use their wands against one another, right? But they must still fight, right? One has to go at the hand of the other, right? Now, the prophecy mentions a hidden power which Harry is supposed to possess. A power Voldemort does not possess and cannot cope with, right? (People assume it is the power of love, but that may or may not be what it is...)
Now, chapter 24 of OotP was supposed to be a big chapter. It was supposed to contain an important clue - the title of the chapter being Occlumency (or 'a clue men see'). Now, assuming Occlumency itself is the clue... Voldemort is an accomplished occlumens and legilimens, right? In OotP he uses his ability to manipulate Harry, to get inside his head. Well, if Harry becomes good at occlumency and or legilimency, couldn't Harry use the same ability to manipulate Voldemort and get inside his head? Is it possible that the final battle between Harry and Voldemort could be a mental battle? A battle between minds, literally a battle of wills? Could it be that Harry will somehow force his 'love' upon Voldemort from within? Saturate Voldemort's being with his hidden power from the inside out? Using occlumency/legilimency?

I think that in the final confrontation between Harry and Voldemort, Neville is the wildcard. Voldemort tries to kill Neville in that final battle and the curse backfires on him (like his attempt at Harry did). This time, instead of a nearly dead state, he becomes somewhat demented. In a fit of rage, he turns to Wormtail to finish both of the young men, and Wormtail cannot. He owes Harry his life. As he tries the death curse, it backfires on him. He dies and becomes a house ghost at Hogwarts. Voldemort makes one last attempt to kill Harry and Neville, but confused dementors turn on Voldemort. (Insanity has changed Voldemort's psychic aura so the dementors don't recognize him.) Voldemort is left alive, but soul-less. I agree with those who identify Harry as the next DADA teacher. I also believe that Neville will become Minister of Magic, Ron and Hermione will marry, Luna will become the new editor for the Scribbler and McGonagall will become the new head of Hogwarts. I like the theory of Snape finding the cure for Werewolves and I also believe that he and Dumbledore will be casualties of that final war against Voldemort.

I believe that Mrs. Figg could be an Animigus. She loves cats, JKR made a strong point on that, so it is possible that Mrs. Figg could be Crookshanks. I mean, it really makes sense, since she did watch over Harry when he was younger, why wouldn't she want to watch over him at Hogwarts?

During an argument between Ron and Hermione Harry is reminded of Mr. and Mrs. Weasley. I think this may foreshadow that a relationship will develop between the two of them.
Also, why didn't Harry use the chamber of secrets (it is plenty big enough) for the DA meetings? Only he can open it so Umbridge wouldn't have been able to find it and also who would suspect the girls bathroom as a place for illegal DA meetings? JKR said that something in Book 2 is supposed to play an important role in future books, maybe this has something to do with that?

I believe that we will lose Percy to Voldemort's side. I think he will be an easy target as he is vulnerable. He turned his back on his entire family for the sake of his job. I believe that his ego has taken the better of him and is unwilling to go back to his family and apologize. He doesn't show any of the good-natured qualities the rest of the Weasleys possess. I think he can easily be manipulated to be one of Voldemort's tools. Or even worse, a spy. He might go back to his family and use them as they are all affiliated with the Order. I know this may seem a bit harsh and purely evil, but that is exactly what Voldemort does. Percy could very well be this generation's Wormtail...

I think Harry and Luna will date since they both experienced death in a family. Sirius will turn out to be alive because the veil was actually a portkey to some unknown place. Draco and Pansy will go out since Pansy obviously cares for Draco... also, because they went to the Yule Ball together. I also think Harry will be killed at the end of the 7th book by Voldemort.

I have always had my suspicions about Draco Malfoy. Firstly I have always seen him as a stronger version of Snape, a jerk but on the good side. I read on this site someone's (Mike something) theory that Draco slipped Hermione the piece of paper containing information about the basilisk because of a scene in the second movie. Well, I read or heard somewhere that Rowling put in little clues in the films, one of them being the particular look given to Hermione from Draco in Transfiguration when they are learning about the COS. So when Draco Malfoy rips a page out of a book in the book store at the beginning of the film it could very well be a clue as well. Another thing that has always stood out to me is a scene in GOF. They are running into the woods at the Quidditch World Cup and after some arguing Draco says "Granger, they're after Muggles, D'you want to be showing off your knickers in midair?" Later he says, "Keep that big bushy head down, Granger," This sounds more like a warning to me, perhaps more in the way that Snape would give it, in a sneering know it all jerk kind of way, but non-the-less. And this is not the first time that Draco has given warning to the trio, remember his warning about Sirius, it was wrong but it was still a clue to Harry. Now that Draco's dad is gone we just may see his true colors.

Well, first I think its pretty obvious that Harry will have to fight Voldemort again because it wouldn't be the start of a war if no one had to fight and the main fight will yet again be a fight between Harry and Voldemort. I think the series will end the same way. Next Harry will probably end up with Luna, I'm not sure if he'll date Ginny though... Ron will end up with Hermione and we'll here from Viktor Krum again. I think we'll hear about Fleur again too since she was mentioned in passing in Book 5. Lupin will not die because he will probably be very important in the end.

We know that Dumbledore can become invisible without a cloak. In "Fantastic Beasts..." a Demiguise is described as being "white" and able to become invisible. Since Invisibility Cloaks are woven from Demiguise hair, is Dumbledore a half-breed as well? Part Demiguise perhaps?? Is he friends with a Demiguise, the way he speaks to and is friends with the Merpeople??

Also, Dementors are probably the result of crossbreeding between a Lethifold and a Pogrebin. It would explain the large head, the futility and hopelessness and the "living shroud" look of the Dementors.

I also think that the "ferrets" in PoA were really Jarveys. That is why the MOM was so quick to want to rid of Buckbeak. He was eating them and allowed Peter Pettigrew (their favorite food is rats) to escape to Hagrid's hut. They didn't want him to get away, and Cornelius Fudge is "Voldemort's most loyal supporter".

In book six, I think Harry will be reinstated as Seeker and become Quidditch captain. Ginny will become chaser along with Seamus and Dean. Neville will become the announcer unless Lee Jordon stayed another year with Professor McGonagall to study ...something.

As for Sirius Black, they never said the spell that Bellatrix said and they never actually saw him dead, just kind of stunned so I think that he will definitely come back. As for that veil, I think that the people from the world of the dead live there and Lily and James had pulled Sirius in there to protect him. That means that Harry can still talk to his parents and maybe they can even bring them back some how.
