The DaVinci Code

A Review by Devina

The DaVinci Code, one of the bestsellers written by Dan Brown, is frankly speaking, magnifique. A binding thriller is contained within the 400-odd pages; I guarantee that you will not stop until you finish this book.

Robert Langdon, a Harvard symbologist, while in Paris, is called to the Louvre to apparently provide any information regarding the brutal murder of the curator, Jacques Sauniere. The dead man has left behind baffling riddles that only Langdon can seem to solve. What he doesn't know is that he's the main suspect! A French cryptologist Sophie Neveu, partners with Langdon to discover the truth behind her grandfathers' (Sauniere's) murder. Robert Langdon and Sophie Neveu must race against time, traveling from Paris to London to uncover a secret of such magnitude that could destroy many, facing dangers at every step.

What is the mysterious Priory of Sion doing here? Has the mystery surrounding the Holy Grail been revealed? Does it really exist? More importantly, what is it?

To find out, read The DaVinci Code!

A story combining history, art, culture, and fantastic details which might leave you convinced at the end of the book, that this is what truly happened! The greatest strength of this book is the rich detail, all of which happen to be true. While the characters are fictional, the other information is all real and factual. Of course, it's up to you in the end to decide your views. Whatever your opinion, I guarantee this book will not disappoint.

However, it's definitely not meant for two groups of people:
1 - Children below 13-14
2 - People who would get offended at a different inference of the story of Jesus Christ.
If you're among the above two, I suggest you avoid the book, at least, until you're older or, have an open mind. And if you still read the book while being in category two and find it offensive for some reason unfathomable to me, please don't condemn this site for promoting this book. These are my views, and as far as I know, freedom of speech and press are still valid. As I said, I wouldn't know why category 2 people find it offensive; but having read such stories in this regard, I'm warning you'll now.

I totally give this book a 5/5! If it were mathematically possible, I'd give it a 10/5!!!
