The Ring Two

A Review by Daniel

It's been a while since I saw The Ring, however The Ring Two did a good job to refresh my memory. In The Ring Two, Rachel Keller and her son Aidan have moved from their home in Seattle Washington for a fresh start. They want to forget about Samara, her video tape and all the horrors attached to them. Unfortunately Samara doesn't give up that easily... she's back... and her main focus now is Rachel's son Aidan.

The special effects in The Ring Two were very well done. Makeup artists and the geniuses behind the movie's CGI did an excellent job creating many of the horrific but spectacular events in the film. The musical score for the movie was decent, helping to add to the overall atmosphere of the film.

I must say that despite The Ring Two's "Horror" genre, it was really that scary. There were certainly a few good jolting scares however it could certainly have been much more creepy, eerie, and unsettling.

Overall I'd give The Ring Two 3 stars out of 5. It was an "OK" movie, but it had the potential to be much more. I would suggest watching The Ring before you see The Ring Two because although The Ring Two's storyline make sense, the original film has a more in-depth storyline and includes many more details on the history of Samara and her childhood that aren't included in the sequel.
